Pass the Baton - Women's Day

March has started and all the fuss about the women’s days is around us.

On this day organizations, newspapers, tv channels, advertisements, etc. it all about how great we are.

Today morning while reading the newspaper I fumbled on the Times of India women’s day theme "The Future is SHE"

It has a list of all the great women who have achieved milestones in their careers from sports to Corporate, from NGO to entertainment and panel looked awesome but what was sad about it that I didn’t know many of them!

We just know about a handful like Indira Nooyi, Sudha Murthy, Niramala Seetharam, Sakshi Malik and Kalpana Chawla. I wish I would know at least 2 women in each category which are alive and working

Coming back to the newspaper, it has a small option where anyone can submit idea, poems and thoughts on "How would you like to pass on the Baton? "

When I looked up on Google the exact meaning for "Pass the Baton" it is "hand over a particular duty or responsibility"

Of course it is a good initiative, I don’t want to pass the Baton to the new generation of Women. We already have enough responsibilities and duties. I know women are the most underrated handworkers. So here are my thoughts

"Pass the Baton"

I don’t want to "Pass the Baton"

Why to Pass the expectation of this world to new generation

Let them be free!

Free from responsibility of choosing family or work

Free from the judgement of what is she wearing

Free from the being the primary caregiver for children

Free from expectation to take care of family

Free from managing the food and home

Free from endless thankless job she does

I don’t want to "Pass the Baton"

Instead, I want to give her wings so that

She can be herself

She can say NO

She can walk away where she’s not respected

She can choose whatever she wants

She can have her boundaries

She is not judged by other women

She is respected without any conditions

I don’t want to "Pass the Baton"

But I wish I wish a world where

Women can take rest without feeling guilty

Women can prioritize themselves over family

Women can choose in whatever field they want to go

Women can be the primary givers, earners

Women can have equal rights

I don’t want to  "Pass the Baton"

We are doing more than enough, and it is taking a toll on us

Its time, It’s high time now

Time to "Pass the Baton" or rather "Share the Baton"

between Men and Women

Men can take over the Baton of

Being the primary Parent

Taking care of food that goes to table

And the list goes on

But if Men think they are helping or doing it for Women

All their efforts are in vain.

It not Women's job

It’s not just Women's family

Its equal partnership, equal job and it’s your home and family too

And that’s what Feminism is all about

Once when everything is equal

We want equal rights, nothing more and nothing less.

No special day or special treatment will do any good to the Women

So, let’s not just have sessions for Women

but start educating the Men in future

To make this world the better place

Dhundhli Yaadein

 Roz apne din charya mein

itne uljhe rehte hai ki bhul jate hai kitni sari cheezen

par aaj k din

aapka bina aapka 5th birthday

kaise mana le

shiv ratri ki dhoom rehti hai

par mann mein khalipan

kabhi kabhi dar lagta hai

ki kya bhul jaungi

aapka sparsh

aapki awaz

ya aapka presence

thode saalon ke baad !!

Bar bar wahi photo video

dekhti hu .

Sochti hu

kaisa lagta tha aapse gale lagna

Papa jab neend na aaye to kaise aap apna haath  sir par

firate the aap

kahani , kisse sunate the

Bahut saare bhul gayi hu ab

Is liye dar lagta hai wo dhudhli yaadein aise hi gayab na ho jaye

Ab kabhi bhi woh lamha main jee  nahipaungi

kaise hum philosophical baatein karte the

jab walk pe jaate the

ab kis se karu yeh sab share

darr lagta hai sari yaadein

dhudhli si ho rahi hai

kahi fisal na jaye

Chahiti hu aapki awaaz sunu dubara

jab aap humara naam pukare

fir chahe daantne k liye hi kyu na ho

kehte hai samay sab thik kar deta hai

yaha kuch thik nahi ho raha

abhi bhi aapki kami utni hi khalti hai jitni us din thi

aaj bhi ek kahlipan hai humari zindagi mein

aaj bhi aansu behte hai aapki yaad mein papa

Bus aapki awawz and sparsh ki anubhuti na dhudhla jaye is vyastha zindagi mein

Darr lagta hai

My Little Human

You made me believe in miracles,

You always amaze me

My little human

How do you do it?

Achieving milestones,

Growing tall,

Enjoying moments

Reading books to reading minds

Learning and questioning

How do you do it all?

You made me believe in miracles

The way you empathize

The way you handle new challenges

The way you have stop coming to me for small things

The way you handle difficult time

I never taught you this,

Still you understood!!

How do you do it all?

You made me believe in miracles

When did you became

So mature

So motherly

So, kind

So talented

But still innocent

How do you manage it all?

You made me believe in miracles

I feel truly gifted

I feel complete

I feel so proud

You make me full of love

By mere a hug

I can see me in you!

How do you give so love?

You made me believe in miracles

Time is flying and so do you

Keeping secrets from me

To sometimes sneaking around

To having friends around

To our quarrels and your opinion

I am loving it all

How after our fight, I feel you are so cute?

You made me believe in miracles

You are copying what we do

You are watching us

Taking notes of our move

If I write my dairy

You want one for yourself

If I read a book

You want one for yourself

You are making us a better human being everyday

How you have made this all easy?

You made me believe in miracles

I caught you always wondering

About what you want to be when you grow up

You keep on exploring all the professions out there

And then ask me ,

And I reply –

You would be  a good person,

kind human being

And you will make us proud

You can be anything you want to be,

When you grow up.

For now let’s wait

let me hold you for a moment more

Please be my baby for now

Let’s cuddle up,

Let’s embrace these moments

And You keep making me believe in miracles!

Pandemic!!

Pandemic!!

We are people from same land
We are born in same country
We are having same skin color
We are living in same era
We are facing samePsame
          BUT
Are we really same?

Some of us are working from home
Some of us are enjoying paid vacation
Some of us are enjoying time with family
Some of us are indulging in new hobbies
Some of us are celebrating this time
Some of us are cooking for life
Some of us are getting fit
Some of us are completing all backlog series
Some of us are scared to go out
We some of us mention above are blessed!!
Feeling secure at our home
Getting salary
Job is secured
Food is available
Roof is above us

Few of us are fighting for all of us
Few of us  are going on duties
Few of us  are risking their life
Few of us  are risking their family lives
Few of us  are spending time in hospitals
Few of us  are spending time on roads
Few of us  are spending time in offices
           Why?
To make us secure
To cure us
To keep environment clean
To help the needy
To keep this country going
To keep their job safe
To keep India safe
Some of us are blessed to have this few of us in our life!!!

Many of us are fighting a difficult battle
Many of us are unemployed
Many of us are Walking on street
with their children’s
With their luggage
No food
No Water
No job
No Money
No roof
Pandemic is like a curse to them
          ONCE
They were running the economy
Left their hometown to serve us
Left their families to earn money
Left their heart to serve the Urban India
          Now
What we have given them in return
We have left them
          Crippled
          Alone
          Abandon
          Unwanted
          Helpless

My heart goes to them

When I see them locked like animals in some old schools
When I see them going on trucks like some goods
When I see them walking in 40 degrees of heat
When I see them starving for 18 hours
When I see their kids walking with them
When I see them loosing hope!!
NOBODY DESERVES THIS!
No human being should be treated like this!

Some of us are really BLESSED!!!
Some of us should do something for Many of us
Some of us should become like few of us

We some of us are really sorry for not realizing what many of us are going through
We some of us are really sorry we are not helping as few of us are doing
We some of us are really sorry to complaint during lock down
We some of us are really sorry to take things for granted
We some of us are really sorry to be so selfish

We some of us are really thankful for few of us for their dedication!!
We some of us will support many of us in whatever way we can
We some of us will support economy in whatever way we can.

**************************************************************************

I am thankful to call the Covid-warriors who are still working and risking their life

I am sorry for all the immigrant workers, we have failed you!!!!
This is not a way any human should be treated!!
Wish you will be healthy and reach your hometown safely!

Will you ever come back?

Its been a month without you Papa, there are so many questions which are not answered and are in our minds. We have missed you every single day and yet survived!! Never ever thought this day will come in our life so early!  I need some answers, whom to ask!

What had happened, Papa?
Did you already know it?
Did you think about us before going?
Did you call our names?

So many questions are unanswered…
Why you left us?
Why didn’t you stay?
Why god didn’t give us second chance?
Why didn’t you prepare us as always you do?

Had you been survived?
                If you had visited Doctor
If you were in different city
                If you had some medicines
If you didn’t take it lightly

Where are you now?
                Are you fine?
                Are you looking at us?
                Are you around?
Are you proud of us papa?

Lastly, will you ever be back?

Time Flies with you...!!!

My little world are you,
I just want to spend each moment with you
Just you… forever and ever
But
Yes there is a BUT
But
You want to explore world
Fly high
Need individuality
And
I understand
Even I was like you
I would not be able to hold you back
And
If I would then I am stopping you to nurture

Time flies
Here you are now...

Graduated from cries to mumbling
From mumbling to Talking
Talking to being a chatter box
My love you have accomplished so many milestone

Graduated from Pram to tricycle
Tricycle to bicycle
Oh..!! You have grown so tall,

Graduated from nappy to diaper
From diaper to diaper free
Ahh!! That’s the big achievement of us

Graduated from mummy’s lap to daycare
From Day-cares to Playschool
From crying days in school
To wanting to go on weekend too
Congrats on that victory of ours…!!

You my little bundle of joy
I still remember the day when I felt you for first time inside me
When I hold you for first time
When you cried,
walked,
talked,
And
list goes on and on
But
I promise,
I would always create memory for you (or me)
for each stage of your graduating years
It would help me to look back
And
catch few moments of past
Because
Time flies with you my world..!!
